Choosing a Vanity
The vanity unit you choose will be largely dependant on the space that you have for it (followed closely by the amount you want to spend). Before you begin thinking about a new vanity unit you will need to measure the space where it will be going. It may even help to cut out a cardboard template to lie in the floor so you can see how traffic will move around the new vanity unit.
Some things to think about:
How often is the space used? The more traffic that goes through that bathroom then the more durable you will want your vanity unit to be. In a guest bathroom or other rarely used space you might consider something more decorative.
How big is the existing space? You can opt for over head storage cabinets and make your vanity unit much smaller. If you have lots of floor space then your vanity unit could include room for everything (laundry, trash, linens and much more).
What is the style of your existing décor? Modern vanity units with a Victorian home may not be the look you are going for. Choose pieces that are complimentary and still unique.
What look are you going for in your space? Framed units will usually hide more than frameless units (and can be easier to install).
What is your time frame? If you have the leisure time to wait for custom items or to slowly install the vanity units yourself then you can choose from a wider selection. If installation of the vanity unit must happen right now then your choices may be more limited.
